The Graaff-Reinet Heritage Society has launched a photographic competition and invites all residents to take part. The theme of the competition is 'Our Heritage'. The competition aims to make the people of Graaff-Reinet more aware of their heritage. Graaff-Reinet, being the fourth oldest town in South Africa, has a rich history which is reflected in its monuments, culture and beautiful architecture.
There will be cash prizes for the best photographs and 12 images will be selected to appear in the 2022 Graaff-Reinet Heritage Calendar, which will be available later this year. The competition is open to everyone, especially the younger generation. As the Heritage Society will be accepting photographs taken on cell phones, everyone can take and enter their photographs. Entries will be limited to five images per entrant.
Capture these gems on camera and stand a chance to win. Not only will your photograph be in the 2022 Graaff-Reinet Heritage Calendar, but the first prize will also be R1 000 cash, the second prize R500 cash, and third prize R250 cash.
Entries must include: your full name, age (if you are under 18 years old), your contact details and where the picture was taken. Image files must be 1MB to 3MB (72 to 300 dpi) and please keep to a maximum of five images.
Send your entries to: graaffreinetheritagesociety@gmail.com.
Closing date: 20 September 2021
