The Graaff-Reinet Museum cordially invites you to the long-awaited book launch of Elise Bishop's brand new publication on Saturday 24 May 2025 at Reinethuis.

Elise's book is a precious collection of 30 essays and stories - a loving, humorous and nostalgic look back at her childhood in Graaff-Reinet during the late 1950s and 60s. She describes the town and its people in her now well-known Graafrikaans - a unique style that makes readers across the country smile and long for home.

This special event is not only a celebration of Elise’s work, but also coincides with the 100-year anniversary of Afrikaans. Come and celebrate with us Graafrikaans, the storyteller, and the town we all love so much!
