In January 2022, The Heritage Portal's founder, James Ball, delivered a presentation to the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation to mark the Portal's 10th birthday. The talk described the origins of the Portal, how it works and sustains itself and its role in helping heritage organisations across the country. James also shared his favourite stories from the last decade as well as his vision for the future. A popular part of the presentation was a dive into the numbers behind the Portal (e.g. how many people the Portal reaches, what the most popular stories are etc.).
