Joburg has a network of streams that run throughout the suburbs north and south of the watershed, Linksfield ridge, making their way eventually to two different oceans. Many of the streams have been canalised or covered under pavements or roads.
I've drawn on previous research and articles I've written for this tour, plus additional research and just poking around places to satisfy my curiosity. The result is a fun driving-around tour, finding spots where some of Jozi's many streams pop up in unlikely places. I've even thrown a waterfall into the mix!
Join me as we explore an aspect of Joburg's natural history.
