Our focus in this talk is the home front – the impact of World War I on our local situation and especially on German speaking South Africans. The psychology of war goes beyond borders too complicated sometimes to even imagine. Prof Dedering specializes in our South African German population’s response to their treatment in times of war when they were perceived as the enemy on the home front.
