The South African Visual Arts Historians (SAVAH) is an organisation of academics and professionals who are dedicated to advancing art history and visual culture. One of the key activities undertaken by SAVAH is the organisation of an annual conference. We also organise, on an ad hoc basis, various workshops or smaller symposia aimed at participation on a more localised level. We have an established relationship with a peer-reviewed academic journal – De Arte – which our members receive three times per annum as part of their membership fee.
