I am currently registered as a PhD student at the University of Johannesburg and the focus of my research is the South African artist Alexis Preller. In the 2-volume book on the artist written by Esmé Berman & Karel Nel there are a number of photographs of the artist taken by the photographer Richard Cutler.
I would like to ask the Heritage Portal community if anyone knows where the archive of Cutler's work is located, and whether or not it is accessible to researchers, as I would like to source any other images of Preller that might not have been published yet, if possible.
I think Cutler lived in Johannesburg, but early on in his career he worked with Constance Stuart-Larrabee, who had a studio in Pretoria.
Thanks so much
