Founded in Cape Town in 1953 by a group of shipping enthusiasts and perhaps unique in the world for having our own rooms in a working harbour. We meet twice per week, Thursday evenings (films & talks) and Saturday afternoons which is more social with no agenda.

The Ship Society rooms are in Duncan Road opposite the Cruise Terminal in Cape Town Harbour. Doors open at 7.30 pm and we start at 8.00 pm. Visitors are very welcome and pay R30 for the Thursday evening film or talk. Saturdays are free and a good time to come and have a browse around.
