Dumping along the Braamfontein Spruit may hide the vagrants but it's not good solution. Visibility = Safety. We are concerned about the SLA's that Jo'burg City Parks are entering into with developers particularly along the Braamfontein Spruit. Joburg City Parks is accepting mountains of builders waste and sub-soil from building excavations. This is obscuring the beautiful river view and compromising the safety of sports people using the spruit trail for running, cycling, walking, etc. If someone wishes to 'donate a park' in our sensitive river catchment area - let them donate indigenous trees, bird hides, bat houses, bee hives, benches, art. Let them maintain the hiking trail, build bridges across the spruit to open up more access points expand the sporting areas. How about some eco-toilets? Why are we accepting mountains of subsoil instead?
