The Festive Season in the capital just became more fun, with Market@theSheds going big at one of the city’s most beautiful locations, Freedom Park. This year, shoppers who are looking for something different from the normal stocking filler, can explore local art, design and fashion gifts within a vibey atmosphere of music, food and drink.
Those who have been to Freedom Park, agree that it is one of the most beautiful and underrated attractions in the city. The heritage site, set on 52 hectares on Salvokop Hill (between the Voortrekker Monument and Pretoria Station), overlooks the capital city, offering visitors a panoramic view of Pretoria. The market will be held in the exquisite 2 000-seat amphitheatre.
With an array of more than 50 traders, music performances to indulge in, a wonderful crowd of people and tasty gourmet food, visitors won’t be disappointed.
In the spirit of the season of giving and in support of World Aids Day, market goers are encouraged to bring a gift for a child orphaned by Aids.
This original and atmospheric CBD market has been showcasing beautiful locations in the city since October 2014. Previous venues include 012Central, Pretoria Zoo, the old Fire Station, Pretoria Country Club and the old Moyo’s at Fountains Valley.
The event takes place on Saturday, 28th from 11h00 until 18h00. Entrance is R50 for adults with kids entering FREE.
The market is a project of the Capital Collective, an initiative driving public and private partnerships in aid of inner city rejuvenation.
