This narrow strip of land, only one plot deep, was largely unbuilt upon for a long time. It once afforded uninterrupted views of the coastline and Bay to travellers along Main Road. Over a period of about 50 years, from the late 1800s to around 1935, fifteen houses were built along here. All of them still remain, some hardly altered but others much changed.

In Part 2 of this talk the properties from Resthaven (179 Main Rd) to Walsoken (205 Main Rd) will be explored. There are many wonderful photos, house plans and family stories to be presented.

Please join us for tea/coffee/biscuits after the talk. Non members pay R20 at the door and please bring change if possible!
