The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site Integrated Management Plan (IMP) is available for public comment and input from 12 January 2021. The IMP is a strategic framework plan for decision making that has been drafted in terms of the South African World Heritage Convention Act, 1999 (Act No. 49 of 1999) and the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act No. 57 of 2003).

The IMP sets out the parameters for the management, conservation and protection of the world heritage property’s Outstanding Universal Value (OUV). It provides the integrated management tools for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, including spatial planning measures and a 5-year implementation plan.
