In the 1980s I put together the ‘museum’ of mining and financial artefacts at Johannesburg Consolidated Investments (JCI). There were some very valuable pieces in the collection at the time that I left the company. Does anyone know what happened to it or the contents (some of which was on loan) after the breakup of the company? There were also some great portraits of the chairmen ranging from Barney Barnato to D.A.B.Watson which need to be featured in the right environment.
