The sight of St John’s from St Patrick Road is unforgettable. Herbert Baker and Frank Fleming’s campus appears to rise from the ridge itself – solid, permanent and confident. But the school’s future wasn’t always as assured, and it endured several difficult decades before establishing itself among the pre-eminent schools of Johannesburg.
We are privileged to be led on a tour of the life, culture and ethos of St John’s by Master of Latin and History, Dr Daniel Pretorius. Discover illustrious alumnae, architecture, art, and the fascinating story of the school’s development.
