I have been searching for my grandfather, Charles John Smith-Vaughan for many years and now believe he might have boarded a ship from London to Cape Town as Charles Vaughan, his real name, having added "John Smith" when he reached Cape Town.

I have written numerous letters, tried many avenues with no success. Is it possible that someone from the community could assist? I know Charles John Smith-Vaughan married Catherine  Annie Hellyar in June 1893. If anyone could help me in any way or make any suggestions I could try I would be most grateful,
