A plaque honouring Mrs HS Ball was recently unveiled in Fish Hoek. Skye Wareham, great great granddaughter of Mrs Ball did the honours. She was assisted by Museum volunteer Danny Geldenhuys who designed the mechanism. The plaque will be mounted permanently in the Museum's "Fish Hoek Room".
The inscription reads as follow:
ON THE OCCASION OF THE CENTENARY OF FISH HOEK
this Plaque was unveiled in commemoration of
MRS AMELIA BALL
who produced the now famous
MRS H.S. BALL'S CHUTNEY
from her home "Norfolk Lodge" in Eleventh Avenue, Fish Hoek.
Born on 23rd March 1865
Died on 19 November 1962 in Fish Hoek
Buried in Muizenberg Cemetery
