We seek to appoint a Junior Lecturer or a Lecturer or a Senior Lecturer. The incumbent will report to the Head of School. The incumbent will be expected to co-ordinate and present modules in the relevant subject and in other subjects which form part of the education programmes at Sol Plaatje University.

Minimum Requirements

Junior Lecturer

• Honours degree in the relevant subject;
• Required to enrol for a master’s degree at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by time of the appointment;
• Some lecturing experience;
• A good academic record.

Lecturer

• Masters’ degree in the relevant Subject;
• Required to enrol for a doctoral degree at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by time of the appointment;
• Evidence of research involvement and publication thereof;
• A good academic record;
• Experience with curriculum development in the subject area/discipline
• 3 years’ lecturing experience. 

Senior Lecturer

• PhD with specialisation in the relevant subject; 
• Supervision of post graduate students;
• A good Research publications record;
• Experience with curriculum development in the subject area/Discipline;
• 5 years lecturing experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teaching and learning of the relevant subject. 
• Academic administration and management.
• Curriculum and programme development.
• Research in a relevant field.
• Community engagement.

Note: Appointment at Associate Professor and/or Professor level(s) will be considered.
