Chance to listen to and question the author Dr Jackie Grobler. Grobler is an award-winning historian and writer. He retired in 2016 after a 40-year career of lecturing history and heritage and cultural tourism at the University of Pretoria. He is the author of 15 published books, the best known being The War Reporter. The Anglo-Boer War through the eyes of the burghers, which has been reprinted 12 times. His latest book Die Eerste Vryheidsoorlog 1880-1881 was awarded the Protea Book House Prize in 2019 by the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns (South African Academy for Arts and Sciences) for the best history book in Afrikaans published in the period 2016 to 2018. Grobler lives in Pretoria with his wife Elize.
