This block of flats with shops on the ground floor was designed in 1931 by J.C. Cook & Cowan. The elaborate decoration on the facade, combined with the name of the fashionably grand hotel being built at the time in London, were used to attract wealthy tenants. Roof parapet details and clusters of streamlined plaster forms and stylised keystones on the balconies are of special interest.
