The first lecture in this present series will be delivered on 23 May, when our lecturer will be Michele Jacobs, author of several books on the architectural heritage of Durban. Ms. Jacobs is currently a Ph.D. candidate at UKZN and is best known to Durban’s architectural profession as the Archivist in charge of the Drawings Collection at the Barrie Biermann Architectural Library. She brings her vast knowledge on the subject in discussing “Durban’s Domestic Architecture, 1870-1930”. A number of her publications will be available for sale. Unless otherwise indicated talks begin at 17.30 and will last about 45 minutes, followed by discussion.
