The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed annually on August 9th to promote and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population. This event also coincides with Women's day in South Africa. This year, we invite you to the Iziko Museums TH Barry room from 10h00-15h00, where we’ll be speaking to issues confronting our Khoe communities in SA who are still struggling to have their languages, cultures and heritage recognised. The programme will include panel discussions (Acknowledging inter-generational trauma and how it affects Khoi women), workshops, Khoe language lesson, poetry, theatre and reading.
