The Gardens of the Golden City will be opening the garden of Moot House for the public on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March. The beautiful terraced garden at historic Moot House has recently been extensively revamped. The formal rose garden with gravel pathways and raised beds gives way to expansive lawns and a glorious shade garden with tree ferns, whimsical corners and paved pathways. The contrast between the wide-open sunny spaces and the shaded areas is wonderful.
This is a garden of vistas with meandering paths winding through cleverly planted beds with a mixture of indigenous and exotic plants and beautiful grasses which are offset by sculptural trees. A long, narrow swimming pool is a striking feature of the terrace below the lovely summer house.
