Come and join us for a guided town walk with Beauty, our qualified local guide. 2 Tours Daily – departing @ 10h00 and 15h00 – Monday – Friday. 1 tour @ 10h00 on Saturday. Meeting point is the Graaff-Reinet Tourism office, situated in the Old Library Museum, corner of Church street & Somerset Street. This walking tour of Graaff-Reinet is an excellent and highly recommended way to explore the 4th oldest town in South Africa. Operating from 2nd August 2016 to 31st December 2016.
The walk is approximately 1 ½ hours long and covers the most interesting highlights of the town including some of the over 200 National Monuments that Graaff-Reinet boasts with ~ the Reinet House Museum, the NG Church in the historical centre of town & the old Drostdy Building. Other places of interest that will be visited are the Graaff-Reinet Club with bullet holes in the bar counter and the shop where you can find one of the oldest wedding anniversary cakes in the world.
The tour focuses on giving you the historical and cultural past of Graaff-Reinet and has amazing photo opportunities. Take advantage of having a guide who will share authentic local knowledge of whether it be tips about places to visit or recommendations for restaurants - you are sure to be fascinated with the history of Graaff-Reinet.
Look out for our guide with the yellow umbrella and enjoy exploring Graaff-Reinet on foot at a nominal fee.
