Adriaan von Geusau was from a German Baronial family. He was a large man with a trimmed goatee beard and practised as an attorney in Heidelberg. After the 2nd Anglo Boer War he became Mayor and assisted in the town’s public life for many years. Von Geusau died in 1944, aged 77 years and is buried next to his wife, Catharina (1862-1931), in the Heidelberg Kloof Cemetery.
