Bram Fischer House via Love Norwood

This was the home of Bram Fischer, his wife Molly and their children - a family of Afrikaners, patriots and communists. Many activists came here to a warm welcome, some to attend many parties that became legendary. An outstanding lawyer, in the Rivonia trial, Bram defended Nelson Mandela and other leaders of Umkhonto Wesizwe. He died in 1975 as a political prisoner while serving a life sentence.
