Message from Mashabane Rose Associates via the Gauteng Institute for Architecture (GIfA). Our friend and colleague Jeremy Rose, passed away on Sunday, the 20th of December 2015. Jeremy established Mashabane Rose Associates, with Phill Mashabane in 1995. Jeremy’s death was a shock and we are still coming to terms with the tragic loss of this extraordinarily talented architect and artist. The void left in Jeremy’s wake is large and palpable, felt not only by our studio, but also by the broader architectural community.
Despite this terrible loss, the spirit of Jeremy’s passionate desire to make great architecture is alive and well in our practice, and will continue as the driving force behind our aspirations to contribute meaningfully to the architectural conversation. We’d like to thank everyone for the kind messages of love and support at this difficult time and our hearts go out to Jeremy’s family and friends.
A public memorial service will be held at the Apartheid Museum, at 10AM on Saturday 30th January 2016. Please join us in celebrating the life of this great man.
