The National Heritage Council of South Africa (NHC) in partnership with UNISA will host a Heritage Talk on Exploring Servant Leadership as part of our Heritage 10 days before Heritage Day. This critical discussion around Servant Leadership is precipitated by several challenges that were recently experienced by South Africa. The Heritage Talk is a contribution to a public discourse to seek solutions and draw from our cultural heritage.
 
Adv. Sonwabile Mancotywa, the CEO of the National Heritage Council who established and led it since its inception, will be acknowledged for his contribution to the sector by recognising the Rasvoj International Leadership Accolade that he received from Serbia.
 
The three speakers are the only surviving revered leaders from the 1956 women’s march, Mrs Sophie De Bruyn; RSA’s Former Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas with an extensive experience in governance and leadership and Prof. Muxe Nkondo, retired Vice Chancellor of the University of Venda and thought leader in socio-political issues.
 
The event will begin with a ceremonial dedication to the victims of femicide as a gesture of rebuking the killing of women as an anti-African cultural practice.
